As I’m typing this I’m currently being buried alive. Not six feet under in a lead casket, but waist deep in clothes. I’m sitting, quite uncomfortably I might add, on a handbag and a 5 inch pencil thin stiletto heel is digging into my ribcage. No, this isn’t a new bonding ritual I have with my clothes-I’m actually just packing for vacation.
My girlfriends and I are quite the jet-set crew this summer. Pakistan, France, Jamaica, San Francisco… the list goes on and on. I’m terrible when it comes to packing. I’m that person that for a two week trip will have 4 pieces of luggage at check-in. Sadly, with all these new regulations on luggage in airplanes, you can’t do that anymore. You need clothes that go the distance, and the CoCo blouse, will help you achieve that. This blush colored stretch silk blouse with horizontal pleating and contrast waistband is to die for!
DAYTIME: Because the color and cut of the CoCo is very feminine, I love the idea of mixing it with more masculine elements. Pair it with chain embellished jeans in a dark color and metallic Indian inspired sandals. A boxy tote in neutral python and pastel colored stone necklace completes the look. Whether you’re running across the terminal at JFK or sightseeing in Morocco, you’ll definitely be doing it in style.
EVENING: Vacation can be the perfect time to lose your inhibitions and go crazy! And nothing says that more than a bold skirt for an evening out. Tuck the blouse into a high waisted ostrich feather skirt and pair it with a sculptural leather waist belt to create a new silhouette. Bold jewelry, a studded clutch and high heel patent leather stilettos complete the look. It’s 50% Rock n’ Roll and 50% Park Avenue Princess.
Wherever you are this summer, consider these elements when packing up your own travel wardrobe. Remember, it’s not the destination that’s important. It’s what you wear while you’re there…
