The Inspiration Behind the New Collection

This fall we wanted to turn up the drama! We were inspired by ancient samurai warriors. Their armor is hard and rigid while underneath they are swathed in layers of beautifully textured silk fabric. We took this inspiration and focused on textile surface design by developing several custom fabrics for the collection. Our jackets and coats follow the armor inspiration: very structured fitted garments, whereas our blouses and tunics are soft and feminine.

This season is all about statement pieces. We wanted each piece to be unique and special. We paid close attention to the modern streamline details like contrast piping, exposed zippers and shoulder pads. As well as luxe custom fabrics like our black and white graphic fabric used in the Michele dress, Jacklyn Trench coat, and Mariana skirt.
